2003 Detroit Auto Show - Chevy SS
Chevrolet SS

The Chevrolet SS concept points the way toward the next generation of Chevy SS production cars: Wide rear haunches, huge wheels (21-inch front, 22-inch rear), short overhangs, and a long wheelbase create the SS concept's powerful road stance. A 6.0-liter V-8 sends 430 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque through a four-speed automatic transmission. The SS concept's fully independent suspension can be tuned by the driver. The five-passenger interior is a mix of off-white leather, woven hounds-tooth-check vinyl reminiscent of SS cars of yore, brushed stainless steel accents, and three DVD players. This concept displays a level of tastefulness that we hope resurfaces in future Chevy products regardless of whether the SS concept itself becomes a reality.
