Pictures of the 1955 Chevy Cameo, 1967 and 1973 Cheyenne, and 1988 Silverado Chevy pickups decorated the GM truck studios when Chevy designers created the Cheyenne concept. Make what you will of the snub-nosed results of those retro inspirations, but the Cheyenne boasts an undeniably welcoming interior upholstered in rich, saddle-colored leather. But the best parts are on the outside, where you'll find two side-access doors to the bed located directly behind the cab, in addition to a traditional rear tailgate. The tailgate isn't exactly traditional, though, because it's split horizontally in half and can be opened partway, creating a work shelf, or all the way. Inside the bed are multiple tool drawers and storage bins that recess into the box sides. We wouldn't be surprised to see some or all of these pickup bed and box innovations on future production Chevys. |
